FAQ

What is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)?

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is part of the Thai Immigration Bureau’s transition to a paperless entry process. It is designed to replace the traditional paper arrival card, providing a more convenient entry experience, reducing paper usage, and enhancing border security.

Who needs to complete the TDAC?

All travelers entering Thailand via air, land, or sea are required to submit the electronic arrival card within three days prior to arrival (including the day of arrival and the two preceding days).

When can I apply for the TDAC?

You can apply for the TDAC within three days before your travel date. You may also submit your application earlier, but even if you apply in advance, you will typically receive your TDAC within two days before arrival.

The “three-day period” includes the travel date. For example, if your trip is on May 3, the earliest you would receive your TDAC is May 1.

What information is included in the TDAC?

The TDAC typically includes personal details such as your name, nationality, passport number, and date of birth, as well as travel information such as intended length of stay, accommodation details, and purpose of travel.

How should I keep my TDAC?

After completing the application, you will receive a PDF copy of your TDAC via email. It is recommended to print the document and carry it with you during your trip for possible inspection or use.

Are there passport requirements for the TDAC?

Yes. When applying for the TDAC and entering Thailand, your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry.

Do I need to submit the TDAC if I am only transiting through Thailand?

In most cases, transit passengers who do not pass through immigration control may not be required to submit a TDAC. However, requirements can vary, so it is recommended to confirm with your airline or relevant authorities before travel.

What happens if I do not complete the TDAC before arrival?

Failure to complete the TDAC in advance may result in delays at immigration or possible denial of entry until the required information is submitted. It is strongly recommended to complete the TDAC within the required timeframe before travel.
